What got you in to Crypto art?

Jerry - Many decades ago I was flying over a short stretch of water with clear blue skies above and a dense layer of fog sitting on the ocean. In the distance appeared a cargo ship, or at least the top half of it, heading to its destination across a sea of cloud. At that moment I aspired to be an aviator who could share some of those mind-altering moments that the forces of nature generate for us. Crypto art is potentially the purest format in which to do that; for its own sake.

Toby - I've always loved film but being a musician means the opportunity to work with the moving image has been somewhat limited to longer formats like tv and feature film. NFT's and crypto art offer a platform to collaborate on more short form ideas which really appeals to me.

SL - A lifetime filming the world from the air, working in immersive media; AR, VR, XR, motion haptics, Photogrammetry and IMAX combining live-action and CGI, has meant I've always been on the hunt to explore new technology, and the potential for minting our body of work, illustrating it with bespoke soundscapes and sharing 'in perpetuity' long after we've gone, is immensely compelling.

About

Our mission is to digitise and manipulate a lifetime of imagery for release as NFTs which, with the addition of unique scores, have the potential to change minds by changing perspectives.

Our films have been played in the real world (IRL) at museums and galleries such as The Museum of Old and New Art, at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid Sydney, at The Museum of Art and Science in Valencia, Spain, at CALSCI in Los Angeles, at the British Film Institute in London, IMAX Melbourne, and on international stages since 2015 illustrating music by the seminal British band NEW ORDER.

We’ve filmed at NASA, for the BBC’s Natural History Unit on the Planet Earth series, on James Bond features, as well as for directors such as Werner Herzog, Ridley Scott.

Toby’s band, The Temper Trap, have toured the world, appearing at Glastonbury, Coachella, Lollapalooza, SXSW and supporting The Rolling Stones. Toby’s music contributed to the IMAX film THE EARTH WINS, as well as feature length films.

In the NFT digital world, our NFT pieces have been exhibited as part of the world’s largest NFT exhibition STRATOSPHERE – in both a physical gallery in Beijing and an online gallery. We were selected as one of eighteen NFT artists to exhibit in a physical gallery in London from a roster of over 3000 artists.

Our two genesis pieces sold to fine art collectors, for whom we not only created the NFTs, but also high resolution (4k) film files which they exhibit in the physical world in their homes, and a series of large format still photographs, they can print for their walls.
